So, you're eloping in Las Vegas or planning a once-in-a-lifetime photo session—and you want it all: the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, glittering Strip shots, Fremont Street murals, and maybe a few fun hotel hallway or elevator photos too.

As a local Vegas photographer at Falling Rocks Photography, I see this request a lot in elopement groups. And while I love capturing as much as possible, Vegas traffic + distance + strict photo rules mean we’ve got to plan smart to make the most of your time and budget.
TL;DR: What to Know When Planning Your Vegas Photo Shoot
✅ Choose your must-have locations
✅ Check distance + travel times between them
✅ Plan for at least 20–30 minutes per stop
✅ Skip hotel interiors unless you have permission
✅ Want it all? Plan a longer shoot—and let’s make it fun!
Popular Las Vegas Photo Locations
Let’s break down the top photo spots—and what it actually takes to shoot there.
📍 Welcome to Las Vegas Sign
Iconic and beautiful—but almost always busy. Even with a short line, expect a minimum of 15–20 minutes for parking, waiting, and shooting. Add time if you want shots from different angles or if there’s a crowd.
📍 The Las Vegas Strip
You can get great photos on the Strip itself (especially near fountains, bridges, and in front of hotels like the Bellagio, Venetian, or Paris). BUT:
🚫 Photos inside casinos or hotels are not allowed—these are private property. That means no shooting in the casino floor, hotel lobby, or hallways unless you’ve booked a private suite and get permission.

🕐 Fremont alone can take an hour or so to explore both ends—especially if you want that golden hour glow or a drink at the Carousel Bar.
📍 In-Hotel Shots (Rooms, Elevators, Hallways)
If you’re staying somewhere fun and want intimate or editorial shots in your room, we can totally do that—but that takes time. These shots are best saved for either the start or end of the session.
Travel Time: The Sneaky Time Thief in Vegas
Even if the locations look close on a map, Las Vegas traffic says otherwise. Depending on the time of day, you could be looking at:
- 🚗 15–30+ minutes from the Strip to Fremont
- 🚗 20+ minutes from the Welcome Sign to most hotels
- 🚗 10–25 minutes between photo stops, depending on crowds and parking
All that adds up fast—especially if you only have 1 hour.

If you’re on a tight schedule or working within a limited budget, I highly recommend choosing 1–2 locations max. You’ll get way more quality photos and won’t be stressed rushing from place to place.
Ask yourself:
❓ Do I want the iconic Welcome Sign?
❓ Do I want a city/urban vibe like Fremont Street?
❓ Do I want soft hotel room portraits or playful Strip shots?
Then we can pick a side of town and plan around it!
Got More Time? Let’s Make Magic All Day
If you’re not in a rush or want a full elopement day documented, yes—you can absolutely get all the iconic Vegas shots in one day. We’ll just need to break it up with travel time, maybe a snack break (jello shots, anyone?), and plan the order carefully for the best lighting and flow.
