Mother’s Day can be both joyful and bittersweet. For me, as a Las Vegas and Boulder City photographer, it’s also a reminder of my mom and the quiet ways she showed love and strength. This year, I wanted to honor her memory by giving back to the community that once supported us.
That’s why I donated supplies to Lend A Hand of Boulder City, an organization close to my heart. They were collecting items for Emergency Aid of Boulder City, and I knew I wanted to be part of it.
Why Lend A Hand of Boulder City Matters
When my mom got cancer for the second time, Lend A Hand stepped in during a time when my mom and I really needed it. From providing transportation to medical appointments to allowing her to use a wheelchair—no questions asked—they made life just a little easier during a really, really hard chapter.
Their mission is simple: helping seniors and families with essential services like:
- Rides to medical appointments
- Loaning out medical equipment
- Connecting people with resources
You can learn more about their services here:

What I Donated This Mother’s Day
- Toothbrushes & toothpaste
- Deodorant, shampoo, conditioner
- Kleenex
- Pet food (because pets are family too)
If you’ve ever worried about affording both groceries and pet supplies, you know how real that struggle can be. That’s why I always try to include both essentials for people and for animals when donating.

Why Giving Back Is Personal for Me
Losing my mom to cancer changed everything. But remembering how much kindness showed up for us back then reminds me to keep paying it forward—whether that’s through donating supplies, volunteering, or using my business to give back.
