Some weddings are sweet. Some weddings are stylish. And some weddings roll up in a pink Cadillac with not one but two best friends marrying their sweethearts, surrounded by a sea of Elvi.
Yes, Elvi. Plural Elvis. Stick with me.
This epic double wedding in Las Vegas was a day I won’t forget (and honestly, neither will the guy on Fremont Street who saw four Elvises arguing about parking). The two brides—best friends, soul sisters, and absolute legends—decided to tie the knot together in true Vegas fashion. There were laughs, there were sequins, and there were so many sideburns.
One of the brides was still finishing her recovery from open heart surgery, which made the celebration even more special. Talk about heart in every sense of the word. She showed up ready to live it up—and that’s exactly what they all did.
They had an Elvis-themed ceremony, where every single guest dressed like Elvis. The officiant? You guessed it. Also Elvis. Because go big or go home, right?
I didn’t get to photograph the ceremony itself (sadly—I imagine there were more rhinestones than the sun could handle), but I got to capture the iconic pink Cadillac ride after. And let me tell you: this moment was gold. The Cadillac was driven by Elvis’s much-younger wife while Elvis himself sat shotgun, looking like he needed a nap and maybe a warm tea. We joked the whole time that “not all Vegas Elvises are created equal,” and let’s just say…this one was vintage in more ways than one.
We cruised through downtown, laughing the whole way, and ended up at Hennessy’s Tavern, an Irish pub on Fremont Street, where the reception vibes were full throttle. There was no wedding cake—they went full Vegas and served donuts instead. Vegas-themed donuts, obviously. Because why eat a basic slice of cake when you can eat a blackjack donut that looks like the Strip?
The whole afternoon was filled with hugs, belly laughs, and Elvis wigs askew in the best way. It was chaotic. It was sweet. It was so Vegas.
And it reminded me why I love photographing love here in the city of neon dreams. Weddings don’t have to be traditional to be meaningful. They don’t have to be long to be memorable. They just have to be real.
So if you and your person (or people! Best friend double wedding, anyone?) are planning to do things a little differently and want someone to capture the fun, the chaos, and the love—I’m your gal. I offer sessions as short as 30 minutes, and I’ll be right there for the donut cheers, the awkward sideburn moments, and everything in between.
After all, you never know what version of Elvis you’re gonna get—but you can know you’ll get photos that make you laugh, cry, and smile for years to come.
